Some of the attractions of
Protaras are the fabulous crystal clear beaches. The
most popular beach in Protaras is the Fig Tree Bay,
which is situated in the heart of Protaras. You may
decide to walk along the coastal tracks and come
across many smaller and tranquil coves to enjoy.
In this resort you will also find
the picturesque Ayios Elias Monastery. The Monastery
can be seen from most places in Protaras as its
positioned on the top of a hill. From there you can
enjoy the breathtaking scenery that Protaras has to
offer.
Protaras has an extensive variety
of shops, supermarkets and restaurants. Heading
south with take you past Cape Greco, then ten
minutes later you will have arrived in Ayia Napa –
best known for its Nightlife. Ten minutes towards
the opposite direction will take you to the
Paralimni Village where you can meet the locals.
In the summer season buses run
every thirty minutes. In general travelling with
public transport is very inexpensive. Another way of
getting around is by hiring your own car. Its very
easy to get around in Cyprus, as we drive on the
same side as in the UK and all places are sign
posted both in Greek and in English.
In all, a visit to the tourist
resort of Protaras can help make your holiday that
much more special with fond memories for years to
come.
